How to use it
- Pick your PDF, or drop it onto the box.
- Draw a signature in the box, or type your name instead.
- Tap the place on the page where the signature should go and set its size.
- Press Sign and save to keep the signed copy.
A visible signature, not a digital certificate
What TeddyPDF adds is a visible electronic signature: an image of your signature placed on the page, together with the date if you want it. For plenty of everyday paperwork, such as a signed form or a letter of authority, this is all that is needed.
It is important to know what it does not do. It is not a digital signature backed by a certificate, so it cannot prove who signed, and it does not seal the document against later changes. Some documents call for more than this, for instance when the law or the other party insists on a specific kind of signature. If you are unsure, check with whoever asked you to sign.
Nothing is kept or sent
Many online signing services upload both your document and your signature. TeddyPDF does neither: both stay on your device. Nothing is stored either, so your signature disappears as soon as you close the page.
Questions and answers
Does this work on a phone?
Yes. Use your finger to draw in the signature box, then tap the spot on the page where the signature should appear.
How do I sign in several places?
Sign the first place and press Sign and save. Then choose Keep going with this file, which opens the signed copy so you can add the next signature.
Is this the same as a certificate-backed digital signature?
No. It places a picture of your signature on the page. It does not prove who signed or lock the file against changes, so if a particular type of signature is required, ask the person who requested it.
Does TeddyPDF upload my file?
No. Your browser does all the work, on your own device. Before it opens your file, this page shuts off its own ability to send or fetch anything, and your browser holds it to that. Try it: once the page has loaded, turn off your Wi-Fi and the tool still works. How the lock works.
