TIFF to PDF converter
Scans and faxes often arrive as TIFF or TIF files, which most web browsers cannot display. TeddyPDF changes them into PDFs that almost anyone can open, keeping every TIFF page as a PDF page, and all of the work is done on your own device.
How to use it

Page sizes and picture quality
TeddyPDF reads the resolution saved inside the TIFF and uses it to set the paper size of each PDF page, so a document scanned at A4 stays A4. Where a TIFF holds no resolution at all, the tool works on the basis of 96 dots per inch. You get one PDF for every TIFF you add; if you would rather have a single document, put them together afterwards with Merge PDF.
Plain black-and-white pages, as faxes usually are, are kept crisp with no loss of quality. All other pages are saved as good-quality JPG pictures, which stops the PDF from growing too large. Bear in mind that the words on a scan are part of the picture, so you cannot highlight or search them; running the finished PDF through Make PDF searchable will change that.
What runs on your device, and files that may not work
Because most web browsers have no built-in way to open TIFF files, TeddyPDF uses ImageMagick, a long-established picture program, running inside your browser. It is roughly 5 MB and is fetched the first time you convert a TIFF.
A few TIFF files are compressed using uncommon methods known as LZMA and WebP, and this tool cannot open those; you will see a message if your file is one of them. Specialist scientific TIFFs, for example those holding signed 16-bit values or Lab colour, may convert with brightness or colour that looks different from the program that created them.
Questions and answers
Will the PDF be the same paper size as my scan?
Yes, as long as the TIFF records its resolution, because that is what sets the page size. If no resolution is recorded, TeddyPDF assumes 96 dots per inch.
Can I turn several TIFF files into a single PDF?
Each TIFF becomes a PDF of its own. Once you have downloaded them, Merge PDF will join them into one document.
Can I convert just the first page of a TIFF?
Yes. Choose the first-page-only option before you add your files, and only that page will be converted.
Does TeddyPDF upload my file?
